About Us
We are a group of dedicated volunteers who search for missing persons in the water, including victims of drowning. We assist other agencies with locating and recovering victims. The majority of our work is using sonar to locate objects on the bottom and identifying those items. We started using sonar many years ago looking for shipwrecks in the Great Lakes and have participated in the discovery of 3 Lake Michigan shipwrecks.
A few years ago, we realized that there was a need in the public safety service for people with new high quality sonar gear and experience using it. We formed a non-profit corporation and received 501 c 3 status from the IRS. We started to assist local teams with our gear and purchased newer and more sophisticated equipment for this purpose. Our funding comes from donations by individuals and an occasional semi-commercial job that we are contacted for such as dock and underwater inspections, bathymetric surveys and so on.
